Members of the Vienna-Falls Chorus Performance Team recently visited Annandale High School’s Women's Advanced Chorus class.
The purpose of the visit was twofold: to introduce these young women and their director, Ms. Irish, to the art of singing barbershop harmony, as well as to begin working on an exciting collaboration project. They discussed the differences between traditional choral singing and barbershop style of a cappella singing, including a live quartet demonstration. The class time was also an opportunity to provide the girls with music and instruction for a song that the Vienna-Falls Chorus will perform with them in a combined chorus at their Fall Chorus Concert!
The girls came to our rehearsal to work with us on the song, figure out riser placements, and get a feel for the final product. They obviously have worked hard and are quick learners! Singers in both choruses are super excited to have this opportunity to share the stage and make harmony together.
